Umishi chapter 84

Rintarou takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. Meanwhile Maaya continues to annoy me and waste precious pages. I think the whole point of her existence is to make Hiro seem preferable in comparison. It's definitely working.

Also did a bit of research (i.e. read Wikipedia) about waves, as it seems they're right about the factors that bring about huge waves:
  • Wind speed (they're in a typhoon)
  • Distance of open water that the wind has blown over, called the fetch
  • Width of area affected by fetch
  • Time duration the wind has blown over a given area (wind's been blowing for a while)
  • Water depth (they're at a deep spot)

Umishi chapter 83

In this chapter: Nanba Salvage continues to show us why you should always have a Plan B when you go a-salvaging.

Umishi chapter 82

Nothing better to do this weekend (readings? what readings?) so here's another chapter. What now, Nanba Salvage?

Umishi chapter 82

And someone asked for a zip of Trickster by Aro Hiroshi a while ago, I forget who/when. Here it is.

Umishi chapter 81

"Oh yeah, I was totally going to do that myself!" Yeah right, Sawa. Suuuure you were.
Sometimes I like Rintarou and other times I want him dead. But in either case I've still got to give credit where credit is due: he's got balls.

Umishi chapter 80

On, on we go. And I must say, Nanba and Yamato Salvage's unprofessional attitude towards this job is slightly pissing me off. They act like they've never heard of a 'Plan B' before. All "OMG, salvaging a gas tanker during a typhoon is really hard!" Uhh, I could have told you that, guys. It's like they were expecting a picnic and sandwiches, or maybe a nice cup of tea and a biscuit. Like they'd never salvaged anything during a typhoon before - oh wait, they have. Buck up, folks!

Umishi chapter 79

Volume 9, whee! It would be nice if I could finish this series before the end of the year, but...

Anyway, let's take this one chapter at a time. We're a little over halfway through the series now.

Umishi chapter 78 + Omake

The start of a new year and the end of volume 8! I don't have any resolutions for 2011 and I didn't have any last year either. If I find something in my life I don't like I start to change it right away, I don't wait till the end of the year to have a sudden epiphany. Incidentally I spent the last hours of 2010 playing video games and surfing the net, the perfect end to any year.

Happy New Year!

Umishi chapter 77

My stomach hurts. Too much Christmas food and Christmas wine. It's a good kind of hurt, though :-D And it doesn't hurt so bad that I wasn't able to bring you chapter 77. Enjoy! (Also Maaya is an idiot, but you knew that already).

Umishi chapter 76

Phew! First term of grad school over, thank God! I'll try and get this arc over with before the next term starts in about a month's time, but don't hold your breath. Thanks for your patience, though.
That three-month blank of no releases wasn't by choice, I was just way, waaaay too busy to do anything except work and study. I'd like to spend this holiday catching up on my sleep, but if I can catch up on Umishi as well, that'd be great.
